Clayoquot Community-based Climate Adaptation Plan

The plan was based on a comprehensive examination of the climate resilience of three Clayoquot First Nation communities.  The planning methodology integrated Community-based and Ecosystem-based adaptation techniques.  The project modelled potential climate scenarios for the region, examined ecosystem impacts as well as socio-economic vulnerabilities and made wide ranging recommendations re adaptation measures.  The scope of measures included mainstreaming adaptation into ecosystem management, food security, health and safety, livelihood development, and infrastructure management.  All three indigenous communities participated in the design, consultation, research and outreach/awareness raising activities of the project.  Developed for three indigenous communities in the Clayoquot Sound, BC, Canada, 2010-11.
